Hello,

What would be the rule of thumb for the best mixing results when mixing a percentage of Biodiesel into #2 to achieve a desired percentage?

Would you want to pour the Bio into the empty tank first or to pour it last on top of the #2?

For example; if I want B5, I would pour 6.5 gallons of B20 and 19.5 gallons of #2.

Thanks.

It really wouldn't matter either way on those percentages. But if it were me, I would put the #2 in first and then the bio and make sure you do it when you will be driving it around for a little bit before parking. Don't just fill it up and then drive home to park it for the night, unless you're a fair distance from home (20 miles or more).

Rockin C Racing,

I appreciate the input. Is the Bio heavier than the #2 and this is why you recommend puting it in last?

Yes, Bio is slightly heavier and will settle to the bottom in large doses. I really wouldn't worry with the scenario you presented as once it is mixed in, it usually doesn't seperate out, unless it is bad bio. So with that, the B20 would already be mixed in really well, so it doesn't make any difference when it is added.

Excellent! I realize the percentages are low but its good advice. If I have to start mixing B20 down I'll be sure to add the bio after filling up with the #2 first and drive around to mix. Thanks again for the info.

not to sound like an a@#hole but why the concern?
