I have seen a couple of fuel mileage posts but I figured Id start my own because this is F@#$[/EMAIL">F@#$"]F@#$ (<A href="mailto:F@#$)@# WACKED...or I am.

My truck has a volant cold air intake kit, 4 inch exhaust from the turbo back, 6 inch lift, and 35's on her. When I don't have the edge controller plugged I am lucky to get 13mpg...it normaly will be 11.9-12.5mph. This I mind you is unloaded just everyday driving to and from work (29 miles 1 way). When I plug in the controller the truck shoots up to anywhere from 16-18 in the same driving day to day. I run the edge at Level 3, Defuel on 4-5 gears, and #4 for Low Boost. Can someone explain such a large spread? I am at a complete loss....Logically speaking you add a performance chip it should if anything burn maybe a bit more or it is possible I guess to get a bit better mileage but in the toon of 4-5mpg difference on the low end? These numbers btw are coming right from the DIC. The truck has 39K on it....Without the edge I get about 350-400miles per tank of gas (tank is 35 gal dry), with the edge I am in the high 400 low to mid 500's. Either my guages are a tweaked out or the stock program on this truck is HORRIBLE. What gives?

Don't trust the DIC!

On my '04, my DIC was reading about 1mpg low stock. When I run the EDGE, the DIC shows about 1mpg high on level 2, and on higher levels it should be even higher. I belive that with a programmer, you can pick up milage some, if you can keep you foot out of it.

Make acouple of hand calc milages runs, and let us know.

P.S. Has your speed-o been adjusted for the tall tires?

I will have to do that next round to get the real readings. As for my speedo yep it's off and GM claims they can only calibrate to 33" inch tires. I don't want to spend the 200 or more smackers just to calibrate the speedo...Other alternatives?

I am in the same boat too, and mine just has 285's. My Edge did help about 1 mpg, hand calculated. Dealer never could find any problems, I just figured I'd take it in the a$$ and deal with it. But it does suck.
