I seen a 2500 HD4 at a dealer last week, looked nice. It had bigger tires, rims, lift, fender flares, and different grille. It appeared to be a new truck, had the sticker in the window and parked with the rest of the new trucks. Does anyone have any info on these? I seen one a couple years ago and figured it was all aftermarket somebody added.

I feel certain he saw an aftermarket truck. Last year my Chevy dealer had a Black Widow Duramax; black grill, black bumpers, big tires, 6 inch lift, etc. It was an aftermarket truck by some company (don't remember which company), and it had a list price of over $78,000. It was the kind of truck only a rich kid would buy. It stayed on their lot for over a year.

It may have been the Southern Comfort Black Widow.

Pretty close to that, but the grille and bumper was different. If I make it back by there I will get a picture. I am thinking it something like the Waldoc versions that you used to see in the 90's.

Very similar, but the hole in the grille was the same size as a 2500 HD. It was cover with a chrome louver.

The HD4 "package" is added by Rocky Mountain Truckworks (http://www.vanworks.com/) out of Ft. Collins, CO. Most of the HD4's have a levelling kit installed, tinted windows, graphics, tires, and wheels. The brand and size of the tire and wheel kits vary quite a bit, as well as custom paint and other accessories. RMT gets the trucks from GM and then sells to the dealerships, where the markup is large. I have debated about whether it is worth it versus doing it after you buy the truck, but you have to factor in the convenience of rolling the cost in the loan, room for negotiation, the dealer standing behind the upgrades, etc. The first thing I did was take all of the stickers off! Also note that you will see Chevy's and GMC's with this package, and around here (Colorado Springs), most dealers have at least 3 of these trucks.

I baught mine from the dealer loaded with lift rims flares and steps already on it. Sticker was like 65k. I like that I still have full warranty.
