HPT has removed the DPF delete function from the software. I dont know when it happend, but I have beta .438 and it is still present. If you dont want to lose this function do not request a new beta.

I saw your thread over on the HPT forum, and I saw their PATHETIC half-assed answer to your question.

I bought HPT because it is professional tuning software for racing and offroad use. I am VERY disappointed that they have been scared into picking and choosing which emissions systems can be disabled.

I would like to remind the leadership at HPT that making ANY changes to the fueling or ignition timing tables for any street driven vehicle is also illegal. Simply removing the DPF feature from your software does absolutely nothing to absolve you from liability. I can still add fuel, blow black smoke, and blame HPT software.

Well I guess maybe it's time I finally switch over to EFI Live. Im tired of waiting YEARS for HPT 2.24, and neutering features is not a way to keep or attract customers.

I have used HPT on quite a few vehicles, primarily Gas powered, and stayed with the product for diesel due to my familiarity with the product. Now I guess I will need to move on also.

We are working on an S10 drag package that I need to tune, and it appears it will not be with HPT due to the 2009 is only supported in the Beta release. Getting another donor isnt a cost effective option. :(

Yes, its unfortuneate they choose to operate in this manner. It does not inspire confidence in the product when things are carried out in this way. They have pretty much closed the door on diesel stuff. No LML support, DPF removed accross the board(the competition is only pulling it from the US). I spent a lot of time learning to use the software for diesel and even promoting it on the site. I am pretty ticked off about their handling of it.

When I was first learning to tune diesels a few years back, I got a lot more help from the EFI live forum than the HP forum. HP doesn't care about diesel tuning anymore from what I can gather. I had HP from tuning gas vehicles or I wouldn't have gone this route. Hopefully they can work through this and bring those features back... but I'm not holding my breathe...

EFI Live has posted their official stance on their website. They will NOT be removing any features from their software. Smart choice.

Cheers!

In the other post someone said they were doing the same as HPT. So just be sure.

EFILive is also based outside of the united states, whereas we are a US based company. If they want to risk having the govt stop them from importing their products that is up to them, we aren't going to play that role.

H&S doesn't seem to be having any trouble either. Plus they are doing it to the new LMLs.

HPT has made their stance clear and I appreciate that. I suppose it's time for me to move on.

It just sucks I have to drop another $900 bucks and switch vendors to continue diesel tuning. Sincerely disappointed.
