I just installed the high idle on two trucks today. But unlike my set up I taped into the GREEN/WHITE wire on the brake pedal.
My question, do I still need a fuse when I tap into the brake wire....I am thinking the circuit to already protected?
Thanks!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

It will already be protected however I would still recommend that you use a small (say 1 or 2 amp) fuse. This way if your high idle wire does ever short out, it won't affect anything other then the high idle. With that being said, no I didn't fuse mine. http://dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cool.gif but mine is run in split loom and I am quite confident that it will never short out.
If you don't fuse it, and it does short out for some reason the truck will not burn down.

Both installs the wire is running in split loom. I will pass along the info to my friends and will let them decide. Thank you again for all the GREAT info.
One more thing....the GREEN/WHITE wire set up works great!!! Very easy to do and right there buy the firewall opening. Thanks again!!Edited by: NoWake200
