I put in a new southbend dual disc today, and a new slave cylinder. I am not able to get the pedal to become hard. It goes strait to the floor and will not build any pressure. I am not sure if it is in the mastercylinder or something else. Anyone ever have this problem?
Thanks, Jesse

Did you already install the tranny? When I put my new slave in, I connected the line and pushed the slave all the way back, pumped the clutch till i felt resistance and then push the slave back again. Its super hard to push the slave back but I did that about 5-6 times to make sure all air was purge.

i did hook it up before I installed it, and pushed on the pedal to make sure it went back out. I did not continue to do this though. I am just going to order a new master cylinder and put that in. Has anyone heard or is it even possible to disconnect master cyl from the fire wall, take it below the level of the slave cyl. I heard this will help.

Anyone else have any ideas? I ordered a new master cylinder but it is a special order part, hope it gets here soon.

Even the most tiniest bit of air in the system can create issues. Get a tube that fits over the bleeder and have a helper slowly push on the clutch pedal. If there's air bubbles, then keep bleeding till there's none.

Still won't get all air out, as the line comes off of the slave at 3 o'clock... I think air still stays trapped up in the top, making it necessary to push the slave all the way in by hand to get all of the air out. Trans has to come back out...

Put a new master cylinder on it, that solved the problem. I would recommend for anyone doing this to fill and prime your slave cyl a little before you put the tranny back in.
