Does it look like the LLY plate/stick scenario may work (for the engineers or insiders that may be on the forum who would know this sort of thing)?

Until someone actually has an LBZ to play with, nobody knows.
It is suspected that the LBZ will be identical to the '06 LLY but with a stronger block, but it is different from the '05 LLY.

Nobody currently seems to want to put any time into developing a product for the '06 LLY since it was only made for 2 months.

Don't know. I have yet to see an '06 up close. Might be time for me to go down to the dealer....

It'll be interesting in what you see on an '06 LLY... but you're still 6-8 weeks out from seeing an '06 LBZ.

From the pic's I've seen on here, my 06 splash plate looks the same.

Woops I should have clarified, my post seemed like I was asking for the 06 LLYs. Anyhow, it was answered. My question was would the 06LBZ be similar to the LLYs in that you can use the stick/plates?/ But I think it was answered. I am just pumped to get the new truck and wanted to start compiling the christmas/birthday wish list.

I need to see if they changed the EGR valve motor and connection. The MAF appears to be the same.

I thought the did away with the EGR on the new motor??

It's there.
The intake is taller (more area), but the EGR is there and appears unchanged.

The intake was rerouted. It no longer routes under and behind the intake tract... it now 90's toward the front, hits the intake heater, then into a second casting that goes down into the CAC. The map sensor is located on top, easily accessible.

The CAC has been changed. The high-heat side tank is still all aluminum, but the low-temp side is now plastic.

Were you able to pull the codes?

Not yet.... my pup won't be here for a few weeks, and I don't have access to a TechII and CANDi.

Codes will likely clear themselves by the time I am able to read/clear them, but it was definitely the EGR.
I disconnected at home, drove to the office with no light. A few hours later, I got a light on startup. Shut down, reconnected, restarted, light still on.
Drove home, stopped for 15 minutes, restarted, light was out.

Today I pulled a P0401 "EGR Flow Insufficient" code. I don't even have exhaust installed yet only a PPE duramaximizer, Boost Controller and AFE filter. Next wednesday I am installing downpipe back exhaust so I can imagine that this will become more frequent. I have hear others say that these happen with exhaust, perhaps I am the first to get one with a stock exhaust system?

FYI the codes will clear altogether after 40 warm up ignition cycles and the dash light (MIL) gets illuminated on the second consecutive ignition cycle that the diagnostic runs and fails which in this case is "The air flow deviation monitored by the ECM during the EGR operation indicates insufficient EGR flow for 15 seconds."

All of this CAN/OBD2 @#$* is getting me down. I'm hoping someone will come out with a laptop programmer that will work with these new 32bit computers. No more modules or programmers made by people that can't add, just a laptop...the way it should be if you are serious about making power.

Interesting. Likely something to do with the boost controller. The controller is telling the ECU that the turbo is providing the boost it wants to see, so you aren't getting an over/underboost code, but the overboost would be causing a reduction in the amount of exhaust gasses flowing into the intake, which normally flow against boost.

With the computer thinking it's delivering 10psi but the controller actually ramping up to 15, it would have the same impact on the EGR as if the exhaust system were to drop 5psi from a cat delete.

Unless the Fingers Stick is found to work on the '06, the other alternative is, when it's available, the Predator, which does allow you to disable the EGR for offroad use.

I have a LBZ and if someone will give me detailed instructions with possibly pics I will do it. I have access to a code reader also, and can pull codes if I get any...

Any takers?

You can... it won't hurt anything, but you'll need a piece of black tape to cover the new light on the dash.

Override
- For GM 2500/3500 04.5+ 6.6L LLY Duramax Engines.
Plate
- For GM 2500/3500 04.5+ 6.6L LLY And 01-04 LB7

We are talking LBZ, are you and is it just not released yet on your site, or did you make a mistake....BC i have a feeling the first one out with a LBZ "finger stick" is gonna make BANK!!!

Is there any MPG advantage in blocking the EGR?
Other than cleaner oil, are there any other benefits in killing it if the exhaust and tuner do not generate codes or lights?

Since we're on the subject I also pulled a P0107 MAP Sensor Low Voltage and a P0101 MAF Sensor at the same time. I am conviced that they are all connected to the PPE boost controller. I am following up with them.....
