The curb weight is not listed on the sticker, only the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating. 6500 to 7000 lb is probably not that far off though.

Does a Chevy weigh about the same as a ford? or a dodge? Just curious cuz some of my co-workers want to hook em up. Wondering what the weight edge was.

I weighed my 03 CC Dmax/Allison 4WD at the local grain mill and it came in at like 6970lbs with me out of it and like 1/2 tank of gas.

I think the fords are usually a lil bit heavier. But I could be wrong.

As stated earlier, the sticker on the door is the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating, not the curb weight of the vehicle. This is the maximum allowable amount of weight that can be loaded on the truck. The sticker for my truck says 9200 Lbs. That means that it can carry 9200 Lbs, which includes it's own weight. Most 1/2 tons are 6400Lbs, and the 3/4 tons are either 8800Lbs or 9200Lbs. My truck weighed in at 7100Lbs with me (Fatso) and a full tank of gas.

I will have to disagree with that statement. I saw, at a parking lot of a Flying J after getting the trucks at equal weight on the scales and they both had BFG at 265s. The Dodge was pulled around by the GMC. It was an 05 Cummins and an 03 GMC. Both Crew Cab long beds. dodge advertises more power, but they do not have the Allison which is what puts the power to the ground. Most people who have intellect knows that the most pwerful engine in the world is useless if it never gets put down on the ground, so the dodge is useless when hooked up to the Chevy/GMCs.

Leave the dodge comments on their junkass pages. We only talke about REAL trucks on this board, NOT PICKUPS!!!!:grd:

You make a statement like that yet you prolly dont know a damn thing about transmissons. Dodges auto is much better than it used to be up to par with the Allison. I know because I own both of them.
