I have read that some, not all trucks have a vibration/noise while in 4X4. I have it....snowing here in the midwest and had a chance to really check it out. Anyway this is what I noticed. The vibration/noise seems to happen in a RPM range rather than a speed...however the speed is indicitive of the RPMs. 55-60mph/2200RPMs(or so).....35-40mph/2200RPMS(or so). The vibration/noise is only there when there is a load on the trans(fuel to the engine not towing).

What should I do or how should I handle this?

Thank you very much for your time.

Is that what that is. I get a growling noise under 4x4 load at a certain speed/rpm. Its really annoying.

I also get a howling sound from the 4x4...but for me it happens above 60-65 mph. It gets to be pretty bothersome at around 70 mph. I know that is you need 4x4 at this speed you should slow down, but I've driven my friend's tahoe many times, and you can never tell when the 4x4 is engaged.
