I was thinking a Titan class V receiver hitch and steel block weighing a couple hundred pounds that would attach to the hitch would be good for weight distribution -- even for dry roads. Would have to keep the steel block narrow enough to avoid torsional forces, however.
Anyone know of such a contraption?
If you attach something out on the hitch, you stand a chance of creating a moment arm that will cause your truck to throw the rear end out more often on slick surfaces when going around corner. The forces would be much like the mid-evil device of a spiked ball on the end of a chain, creating a swinging motion. If you want to increase the weight in the rear end and change the weight distribution, you ideally want it directly over the rear axle.

For added weight, just use a 4'X 8' sheet of 1/4" - 3/8" diamond plate as a bed liner! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
