I went to the nearest gas station today to get some fuel in my truck, as the guage read 1/2 tank. As I pull in to the diesel pump, coasting in neutral (manual tranny) the truck died right at the pump. I put some fuel in it, checked at the air bleed valve on the primary filter, with my electric pump turned on and it just had air in it, so I guess the tank was empty even though it read 1/2 tank on the guage. I filled the fuel line and electric pump full of diesel to prime it, open the bleeder valve and bled the air out. cracked the injector lines and cranked it over probably 10-15 times at about 3-4 seconds at a time. injectors all looked wet like they were getting fuel so I tightened the lines down, tried to start...nothing. Called my mom on a pay phone, she came down with jumper cables, charged my batteries, checked the air bleeder again, bled all the lines numerous times...still nothing. Why wont it start if the injectors are getting wet? Also, I have a manual glowplug switch and I was using them before I tried to start it. Mom had to go to work so she brought me home, but the truck is still sitting down there. Im going back down there this evening when dad gets home, what else should I do?

Antiricer05 Here is something that I used to do on my 6.2 when I was having starting problems due to IP worn-out and draging starter. Take the breather cover off and spray 2 good shots of WD-40 into the intake manifold and then try to start it. WD-40 isnt as volitile as starting fluid, but you still have to be a-little careful with the amount. If the engine starts for just a few seconds it has probably used all of the WD-40 so you could hit it again. DON"T try to start and think that if the engine didn't fire you need to put more in, just crank more to exaughst what you put in first. Good luck.

Thanks for the tip, I eventually got it started by bleeding the injectors more. Apparently my fuel guage is way off, said I had 1/2 tank and it was empty. I put 11 gallons in it which came to $37...and now the guage is way over full, but I bet it has just a tad over 1/2 tank actually.

Glad to hear you're up and running. I figured that since it was running when you first got there it just needed more revolutions to get the air out. The engine running on WD-40 would have gave you a pretty good rev for just a bit. Good luck.
