Happy Fourth Quarter of 2011! HP Tuners has had such a tremendous year so far, and for the final quarter of 2011 we want to make it easier for each of your customers to tune!
When a consumer purchases a VCM Suite Pro (GM or Ford) between October 1st, 2011 and December 31st, 2011 and they submit the proper form (online) with a qualifying proof of purchase, they will receive 2 additional credits. To qualify, the end user must have purchased through an authorized reseller, or directly through HP Tuners.
This is coming on the heels of a price increase of $100.00 last month from one of our competitors. Additionally, HP Tuners is advertising this Special Offer that is valid from 10/01/2011 through 12/31/2011 with a giveaway value of $100!

What the difference between EFIlive and HP tuners????
The difference is everyone with a duramax prefers EFILive, except crashnburn. For some reason hes always defended HP Tuners to the death, maybe it was given to him for free or something, I dont know.

That to be honest didn't answer my question.
If they do EXACTLY the same, why is HP tuners cheaper that EFIlive????
EFIlive is $899
professional version of HP tuners is $649
Anyone got a run down what both tuners can and can't do compared to each other?

Don't need to worry about it. Just got a reply to my email from HPtuners and I might as well not have bothered. They answered my entire email with one sentence. "Hp tuners can't be used to eliminate emission controls on road going vehicles"
So EFIlive here I come.

You're joking....right?
Here's a copy of the question and reply.
Details: Hello, I have been looking and debating about buying either efi-live and Hp tuners. So now I have come to HPtuners to ask the same. Bascily I am looking to buy a suite like hp to use on my duramax as I plan to remove the EGR with an all seasons pipe kit. I would like to keep the stock tune on my truck as I run a banks unit, but just kill the egr part of the tune. also I would like to use the hp kit as a diagnostic unit if and when I get any problems. Can HP tuners be used in this way and would any help be available? Thanks for your time. John

If your vehicle is in the States... EFI's answer would be the same. If you remove emission parts it can only be used off-road.

My truck is in the UK and has to have a smoke check every year as part of an ministry of transport test. I currently run a banks 6 gun, egr blocked and kitty/muffler killed. I blow no smoke what so ever. I understand their standpoint due to the epa/carb police, but my question didn't warranty such an answer.

I agree, but their attorney's probably wouldn't. I disabled the EGR on mine using HP.
I bought HP for my gassers before I had a Diesel. Wasn't going to spend the extra cash for EFI. If my two cents count, HP will do the same as EFI except for the multiple tune DP5 switch. EFI also has more market share for the diesel so you will find more info.
