Yup 2003 GMC ext cab SB - Pewter 35k. Love it so far. I have been reading alot on here about Mods but it is confusing at best. I am looking to get something that I cab get more power for towing the boat and the occasional punch around town. I dont want to blow anything up and dont really want any additional gauges. I also would like to recalibrate for 265's some day. What do you guys recomend. I was leaning twards the Edge Ez or the Bully Dog pup and maybe an exhaust of some sort. What say you? :help:

Congrats on the new ride! Also glad to see another LB7. I love my edge for towing. You might want to rethink the no guage policy. They are extremely helpful expecially when towing. Exhaust and air are also a good idea. If you are not dogging your truck alot on a high setting then you really don't have to worry about blowing anything. Good luck with your new ride! ):h

Answer: Don't hurt yourself trying to wipe that silly a$$ smile off your face.):h ):h ):h ):h

But seriously, IMHO:

4" or larger exhaust: Yes, definately.
Air/Intake: Save your money---stock has more than adequate flow for MOST power mods.
Gauges: They're nice, but not absolutely necessary unless doing some heavy towing.
Power Mod: Edge, Predator, and Bully Dog seem to be the most popular. Pick what suits your needs best.

Again, just my $.02.

Let's be honest here just for a second.
There are needs and wants.
You don't NEED any mods to tow your boat (unless it is co-owned by Royal Carribean cruise lines...) or for an occasional punch about town. Your truck has plenty of power stock.
But you WANT to do some mods to make a fun truck even better. Power is very fun. I've only done the Edge juice/attitude and that is enough for now. More power than I need. As it is, I have to be careful not to wear out those rear tires. Life would be good if we didn't have to pay for tires!
In terms of economy, there are diminishing returns as you try to add more power. Your first move will be the biggest bang for the buck, make it smart. And realize if you want too much power you'll be upgrading the transmission. All very good, but it just takes money.
OK, enough with the stuffy old Dad lectures. Get out there and drive that thing! And if you ever find you have too much cash and want to spend some on your truck, you've found the right place for ideas, right here at dieselplace. We are overflowing with experts at spending other people's money :)

I have an 01 truck with Edge juice/w attitude monitor. I love the power it delivers and is probably one of the more safe boxes for your transmission. And if you dont want the gauges you can just get the edge juice without the attitude monitor, but you wont get level 5 power you get with monitor(still has plenty in level 4). Good luck with the truck and mods.
