well guys i don't post here much but i do love this site it's super helpful.well onto my question i noticed today that behind my right rear tire i have a llitle stain on it ,at first it looked like brake fluid but i crawled under ther and it smells like oils so i'm assuming it might be the axe seal would this be covered under warranty if not how much does this usally cost to replace and is it something i might be able to do and thanks in advance

It's not uncommon. Very sticky and smelly stuff.

well it's not that sticky it just looks like a oil leak,how long do you think it would take to replace it
I'm sure you'll have to leave for the day. They probably get an hour or two.

Just had mine replaced under warranty. I have never owned a GM truck/SUV that didn't have leaking rear seals... Seems like these always leak (for me).

My 01 had the rear oil seals replaced. twice on the right and once on the left, all below 10k miles. Then no more trouble.
