I did my first service myself on my 05, and I'm one of those guys who did not wait to break in their truck before doing my performance mods...My question is this: If I have excessively slipped my clutches in my tranny, would I see evidence of this on the magnet underneath the tranny filter?

I did see a very small amount on my ceramic looking magnet, but I pinched it off with a clean shop towel. Do the the clutches have magnetic friction liners?

My gut instinct is that inspecting the particles on the magnet mean very little...Am I correct?

You will not see much in the filters. When the clutches are abused they cristalize the lining and turn black.
