The new 05 have pretty cool hoods, and I am already thinking of modifying guages just inside the cowl, so you can read them through the windshield. Has anybody thought of this, or could this be a possibility I am going to try to fabricate some way to fit and cosmedically mount boost and EGT guages in there.

Sounds cool and all, but why not just put them inside? It would be different and pretty trick.

Just FWIW, that is a cowl induction look-alike.

Those that have this hood, should take a look at the rubber seal at the back. I have seen several that had a poor seal, that appeared to let hi-P air into the engine bay. That seal should be beefed up, IMO

I had noticed a few issues with these hoods.
1 GM did away with the engine compartment light.
2 If you notice when opening the hood you will see a lot of stress at the hood hinge attachments to the hood, seems a little week to me, however they have a nice look to them and I think GM should of moved the Duramax emblems up on the slanted portion of the hood not to mention on the tale gate above the silverado emblem!
