: What can a Dmax do 0-60??
DURAtotheMAX 09-04-2005, 01:48 AM Wondering what some of the crazy 0-60 times are for Duramax's?? I know its all about the 1/4 mile but having an awesome 0-60 time sounds cooler cause its what most people think of as a car "performance test"):h . I assume the LB7's are a hair faster with their Extreme's:) . What about LLY's?? I just scooted to 60 mph in 6.3 seconds (according to the Edge, which starts timing when you build boost, not when you start moving!), my previous best was 6.4. I think the cooler air tonight gained be that extra 1/10th of a second. This time was with a stock tranny, Edge on 5/5, defuel on 4-5 TCC locked shift, and also it popped a couple time just before I hit 60 mph. Im hoping to lose the popping when my lift pumps arrive and then also pick up some more time when I get the tranny done. Do you guys think I could get under 6 seconds with my (soon to be installed) lift pumps and future tranny? Maybe if I stacked with a PPE HOT Xcellerator???

LBZ DMAX 09-04-2005, 04:16 AM I've 'boosted' the Edge before and it never started until the truck moved, trust me, I made sure. As far as the 0-60 times, take them for what it's worth; 5.6 The Edge is just a meaningless number, in my opinion. Real results are at the track.:exactly:
McRat 09-04-2005, 04:26 AM Good question. I do know a 13 second Dmax will beat a Viper to 60mph at the track.
DURAtotheMAX 09-04-2005, 11:44 AM 05 2500HD--- What programmers/boxes were you running to get that time? You also have a built tranny, right?

PPE/Edge on a good night.
Yes, built tranny and had the copilot on. Truck acts totally different at the drag strip though.:(
Maxter 09-04-2005, 09:43 PM The most powerfull Dmaxes are in the 4 seconds range. I estimate mine at around 5.0
DURAtotheMAX 09-04-2005, 09:45 PM haha that is awesome...are those 4 second Dmax's using spray? or not? Just bought a PPE HOT xcellerator so im hoping I can drop some more time...

N2O DMAX 09-04-2005, 10:13 PM 4.xx aint even close):h .

DURAtotheMAX 09-04-2005, 10:22 PM no way!!! ......3 seconds?!?!?!
Maxter 09-04-2005, 11:36 PM Maybe I'm faster than I tought, I have a 7.93 sec 1/8; it must be faster than 5 sec 0-60.
phazar 09-05-2005, 10:27 PM :funnypost 4.o seconds..

ratlover 09-06-2005, 11:52 AM 60' times are way better than 60mph. JMO and most gear heads know 60' times a whole lot better than 0-60 mph is, 4 seconds good? hell I duno, it dont print out on my time slip so I could care less ):h

Exactly what I was thinking. :ro)
RaceHemi 09-07-2005, 11:26 AM 0-60mph numbers are for magazine readers, 60' times are used in drag racing. I'm with Phil on this one, if it's not on my time slip it's inconsistent, meaningless BS! Get to the track and post some real numbers :ro)
bigblockquad 09-07-2005, 02:12 PM In rough translation here's what some of the important numbers mean:
60 foot= how much power is actually getting transferred to the ground.
1/4 mile ET= obviously how quick you are.
1/4 mile speed= how much HP your making considering vehicle weight.
0-60 isn't really an important number. It can be manipulated easily.
Just my .02
Rich.
Maxter 09-07-2005, 02:42 PM :exactly:
Max Power 09-07-2005, 02:55 PM My 03 LB7 with stock trans and Edge Hot Juice/attitude would do 0-60 in 5.5 seconds according to the atittude. This was from a dead idle. My LLY with edge juice.attitude would do it in 6.7 from a dead idle. I think you could do it below 6 seconds with a boosted launch but the edge won't measure that.
I have no idea what my currect setup runs but I doubt it would be much faster from an idle. I would hope it would do it under 5 seconds with a good bosted launch. You definately don't want any junk lying around in your dash pockets or on your dash. They will hit you or land in the back seat.
king d 09-07-2005, 03:01 PM sub 1.5 60 fts
IBDMAX'IN 09-07-2005, 03:04 PM I can go from 0-94mph in 7.63 seconds, whatever that equates to in the 0-60.
Now that's on my time slip!!
noreaster 09-07-2005, 11:11 PM that your 1/8th mile Wade
ratlover 09-08-2005, 10:56 AM That would fit an 1/8 mile for his listed 1/4 mile ET
IBDMAX'IN 09-09-2005, 12:23 PM that your 1/8th mile Wade
Indeed!! That was on my 11.919 pass :D .
