Here's a pointer to a 286 page .pdf file about the "mid cycle enhancements" to the electrical system on the '03 trucks.

What I don't yet know is how to determine when it was phased in, i.e. whether you can tell if your truck is pre or post this change from your VIN, manufacture date, etc. I'll post a reply if/when I find out more.

My truck was built in 01/03, so I am interested. Thanks for the research.

If you have an 03 or later then you have the changes. The '03 model startup was the 'Mid-Cycle Enhancement'.

Hi JMPDMax,
That would be nice for a few reasons, but the document itself implies that it is a phase in. Not saying you're wrong, but if you have better info than I do, please share your source.
tnx,

When they say Mid-Cycle, I believe they mean that it is a change on the current platform which started in '99. The new platform maybe 2005,6,7??? Just an update half way through the current design that's all.

BTW, thanks for the info. Good stuff. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gifEdited by: Minn-Kota
