So i've been looking to upgrade my 08 1500 sierra slt ext.cab for a denali lml in my area for months now. Not big on black, kinda like the the stealth grey, but none around me. Their is white one 25 miles south of me (watertown,ma). Went to go see it today. MSRP 62,567. Everything except dvd. Holy crap... The thing looked like a bomb hit it. 40lbs of bird tird on it. I'm worried about the paint job. All doors unlocked. A few leaves in the back seat. Window sticker fallen off. Back license plate housing resting in the bed.... You would have thought it was used, or maybe a bum was sleeping in it at night. Went to talk to salesman to see what was up, maybe used, maybe a chance to get a good deal. My local Dealer told me it has been in inventory for 180+days. My local dealer also had no interest in acquiring it for me. Finally found a salesman (Freddie) to talk about the truck. He did the run around and assured me that it was not used just really dirty....He wanted to know if i wanted to turn it on to hear it start. Lol..... I hope a 62k truck would start....Finally he got to $$$$. He said if you buy in the next two days we can do 559xx. i figure thats like 10% off sticker. Am i crazy to think i can get 20% off sticker or is it a good deal. I'd like to get closer to 50K. Any advice would be great on bargaining.

Im currently in the market right now too and have negotiated deals anywhere between $1500 below invoice to $500 over invoice. That was BEFORE incentives. The invoice on your truck should be around $57,500. The price he is offering you kind of stinks considering there is a $3505 rebate right now and some select customers (youre prolly included since you own a GMC) for another $2000 in bonus cash.

Just tell him your interested, take it out for a test run and when you get back, ask for the details and then walk away. If it's been sat there for that long, a few extra days won't hurt.

give him a call a few days later and tell them your still interested but need the deal sweetening. If they wan't to deal and have it off their lot, they will talk sensible
