Thanks to all for the assistance. This site has been fantastic and made a huge difference in my mental state for the past 2 weeks.

1 PMD, 1 fuel line, 1 OPS, 1 lift pump, and 2 batteries later I am on the road. It runs better than ever! Power is better and no more stumbling!!!It does smoke a bit (black in color) under hard acceleration. Isn't it normal to have some smoke w/a diesel?

I'm taking a breather for a day or 2. After that I'm digging in to the turbo stuff. It doesn't whistle like most I hear around town (is it normal on a 6.5TD??) but is spinning at least. The actuator rod is tight when the engine is running. I hear that is a good thing.

Black smoke is turbo related if you figure out why it doesn't wistle very much you will probably take care of the smoke.

Black smoke is normal with any 6.5 turbo diesel engine, you'll never get rid of it completely. A healthy puff when you hit the throttle is to be expected and a good sign that things are working normally.

How about a really really big puff Tex, and then a really, really long trail behind me all the way up to 96 MPH? ):h

My 95 lets out a little under WOT accel on hot days, the PCM is pulling boost out due to high intake air temp. But when things cool off outside it clears up.

I am MUCH happier with it now. It runs so much better it ain't funny. I will say it is a bit a of a pain to work on, but I know I saved thousands doing it myself (with help from you guys)!

Glad you got it living again, but I don't know about the 0-60 in 3 days though. My 6.5 makes my buddy with his 99 K1500 gasser suburban jealous:cool2: . Besides that smoke rules:ro) .

fermanator- updated my sig. I should actually time it- it moves very nicely now. Can't touch my Mustang, but then again, my Mustang can't drive in mud!
