LanduytG 08-18-2011, 10:05 AM Just updated my Insight this morning. You can now monitor all aspects of the regen now. Has DEF level pid as well.

Willsdiesel 08-19-2011, 10:53 PM Damn my insight is saying instant mpg cruising at 55-60 is 12-13 and when I reset the mpg avg in dic it says avg is 20. Wtf. Big F***in diff
Willsdiesel 08-20-2011, 10:12 AM Something can't be right cursing at 55. Inst mpg. 8.8-10.2. No way that's right
LanduytG 08-20-2011, 02:01 PM I Think I read somewhere these PID's were experimental. I sure do like all the info on the regen stuff.
Greg
Willsdiesel 08-20-2011, 02:03 PM Agreed. The regen, urea info and everything is awesome. But my mpg gauge is def wrong. Landuytg. How is mpg gauge reading ? Normal?
Ultrafied 08-21-2011, 09:42 AM I posted in the other thread, my mpg is 16+. Mostly intermidiate freeway and city. No long trips yet. Will be going to the river next weekend and will see what it reads then.
milkman 08-21-2011, 01:32 PM Mine us fubar, hunk of crap:
Regen indicator is NOT working
Mileage is way off
And urea level is way wrong
Cmon Edge, get it right. I just bought a 450.00 paper weight. I will be calling Monday
milkman 08-21-2011, 01:37 PM The Truck went into regen this am, at 281 miles, soot mass was at 42g per the Insight. Is this right?? Oh and the stupid Regen indicator did NOT come on!!!! I almost chucked it out the window!!!
Willsdiesel 08-21-2011, 02:07 PM Crazy it's like they dint even hook it up to an lml
milkman 08-21-2011, 04:47 PM I deeply apologize for the one comment on the REGEN.
It does work, it only switches to ON when you are above like 40 MPH.
the indicator only works when the truck is actually REGENING...
DEF is still WAYYYYY OFF....
Willsdiesel 08-21-2011, 05:02 PM Well that still is stupid that u have to be above 40mph
LanduytG 08-21-2011, 07:49 PM Agreed. The regen, urea info and everything is awesome. But my mpg gauge is def wrong. Landuytg. How is mpg gauge reading ? Normal?
No, not at all. It was about 10-12 instant and got to 13.7 average. I could see it was way off so I got rid of it and put different pids in its place.

My son in law works for Allison and he had originally told it was not suppose to inject fuel until you got to 45mph or over.
Greg
milkman 08-21-2011, 08:28 PM yeah thats about right, 45 ish is about where I am seeing the light come back on....
dmax_83 08-22-2011, 12:52 PM yeah thats about right, 45 ish is about where I am seeing the light come back on....

LanduytG 09-23-2011, 04:46 PM Edge has a new update. It was released 3 days ago. I updated mine and have it in but have not had a chance to check out anything.

Mine regens at any speed even at a stoplight. The only time it shuts off is if I am in 5th or 6th btw 50-55 mph or if I am stopped for more than 60 sec or so. If I am driving in a 55 mph zone I have to shift into 4th to get it to regen. I have been stuck in construction going 10-15mph and it would regen the entire time.
Pushed2DMax 09-23-2011, 10:38 PM The weird thing is, the trucks still run funny while in regen mode but not going 45. You can tell it's in regen, but the edge monitor only tells you when fuel is being injected.
The Edge on an lmm indicates a regen from start to finish moving or stopped.

My Insight has an indicator when the truck is actually in regen. As I have stated in another post the post and pre DPF EGTs increase when the regen cycle starts, but the soot does not decrease until the red regen indicator comes on. The post DPF EGT slowly climbs to 700-800 but the regen indicator does not always come on , eg. if I am idling or dirving slow.
How is this post DPF EGT increasing?
Once the regen indicator comes it usually stays on and soot is decreased until I shut the truck off or I drive at low rpms, 50-55mph in 5th or 6th. I have found that manuaully shifting to keep rpms higher really helps the regen indicator stay on and soot levels drop.
The Insight was well worth the $400 just for the soot level and regen indicator alone. I have been able to adjust my driving to make sure I get the soot levels down during regen. I used to get the keep driving message alot, probably 15 times or more, went into limp mode 3 times. Dealer said it was because of my driving habits.
Pushed2DMax 09-24-2011, 07:22 PM How much soot mass is it supposed to take to initiate a regen?
LanduytG 09-24-2011, 07:59 PM How much soot mass is it supposed to take to initiate a regen?
Suppose to be 44 but I have seen it at 33 last week when temps were in the 50's.

Greg,
You notice any differences with the new update? I havent had time to update mine yet but am interested if you seen any changes.
Thanks,
Bob
dmax_83 09-27-2011, 12:06 AM I can't get mine to update. I have the software installed and the drivers installed for the insight yet the program tells me that nothing is connected. Anyone else?
