I noticed when I figured my milage by hand it was a couple miles less than what the computer said, I mentioned this to the man who used to own the truck and he said it started doing this after he installed the edge. is this a common problem or are these computers just inacurate. Also if I uninstall the edge do I need to unhook the batteries or can you do it with power hooked up. thanks for any input.

I unhook mine with the batteries still hooked up. Probably better to unhook, but mine has never been a problem.

any programmer/tuner added will throw the DIC off in mileage calculation. Search through any of the threads in the section I moved this to and you'll see they all do this.

Prior to installing my Edge EZ, my truck computer was off by about five percent for MPG calculations. After installing the EZ, it's now off by about fifteen percent. Makes the DIC calculations for fuel used and MPG about useless.
