I am not sure I have the right thread and am very sorry for not getting it right.:(

I did a search and I did not find what I was looking for.

I have puchased a Banks six gun for a month old 2005 3500 D/A crew / dual approx. 2000 miles. I have installed the monster exhaust and the air breather. My truck sounds healthier and has a little more giddyup. I am looking for fuel milage not speed. I do not have any problems with warranty but I do need to get the oil changed and a couple of scratches touched up at the dealer.

My question is to the owners of new trucks with mods and warranty problems that may pop up. I asked the Banks sales guy about voiding the warranty and he said just remove the banks when you need service. Is there anyone who has ran into this problem? And what can I do to avoid this hassle besides letting the unit sit in a box?

I say Thank You! Great forum!

As soon as I figure out how to put picks of my rig on the sight I will!

It's all up to your dealership. Mine actually installed my exhaust probe for me. They could care less if there's a dial on the dash. It might have something to do with the amount of vehicles I have purchased from them. Either way, they're a great bunch of people.

You'll definitely want to remove it when you take it into the dealer for anything. You shouldn't have any trouble with warranty claims. As long as it isn't a blown engine or something major. In which case GM might send a district guy down, and he will probably be able to detect it.

P.S. You should try changing your own oil. It is way cheaper and you'll know you are doing the job right. There is really nothing to it.

Another question could you take everything out like the EGT probe and replace it with a bolt to hide any signs of aftermarket stuff?

I believe it's the Magnesun act which states that basically the dealership has to prove that it was the aftermarket device that caused the failure.

Flip side to this is that either way it comes down to the dealers word against yours, and techinically they are the professionals.

It's just easier to take it out. My dealer doesn't give a chit one way or the other. In fact the head mechanic that works on DMax's thinks this stuff is cool.

Take your Duramax to Jiffy Lube???....:cookoo:

You might as well take it to a local high school shop class for them to practice on.

Not Iffy Lube!

The horror stories from those chop-shops operated by flunkies from McDonalds are never ending. Blown oil filter gaskets (old one stuck, left it on, installed new filter)... "forgot" to reinstall oil... improper fluid used

They cost me $150 when they put Dex-III in my wife's Echo... I found out later when I checked the fluid and saw on the dipstick that it took T-IV. I called and asked what fluids they stock and they said Dex and Merc. Asked about T-IV.. "Never heard of it"

To top it all off, they use Pennzoil filters, which is a Fram in a yellow can.

I barely trust the dealer to work on my vehicles. The only thing I don't do myself is what I physically do not have the equipment for (hydraulic presses, pullers, hoists, etc...)
