Just added the Edge Juice w/Atitude and DAM!.. :ro) it rocks!... now I understand why everyone has been raving about.

I do have one question the smoke coming out of the back is not black it is kinda grey, is this normal? I have an '04 with the LB7 and the injectors have not been replaced

The blacker the smoke, the more the programmer is over-fueling. The Edge doesnt quite fuel enough to make BLACK smoke, even on level 5. Does make a good amount tho...looks awesome coming out of dual pipes):h

That doesn't sound right to me. My HJAT could make a ton of black smoke. even my first 90hp box made my truck smoke a lot. Back then I had an EGR and it seemed to really smoke out more than a 48 state rig.... I'd dig deeper

so should I have my injectors checked? or is the greyish smoke just the juice?

How does it idle? Any smoke? (A tell-tale sign of injector failure is white smoke at idle.)

Have you checked your coolant level? I'm no mechanic but if it is grey I believe there's a possibility it could be coolant.

Find a local member with a TECH II or a Predator..........use it to scan the balance rates for the injectors..........if they are all close in the +/- number range then you are OK..........

I just installed mine also. Didn't give me the "holy sh#% this is fast" impression that most folks describe. 'Course, I haven't been up past lvl 3 yet either (and likely won't until I can afford a new trans). Good mid-range pick up, but I hoped for more low end. Oh well.

Anyways, as for smoke, I get nothing unless I romp it, then get dark grey. If I floor it, then black (tranny no likey however). I think you're okay, and if you're not - then I'm in deep doo-doo also.

just installed mine also and I get black smoke on level 4 and 5 if I launch it.

I used mine on level 4 all the time and didn't feel any trans problems. Never used Level 5 though. Only black smoke is when I really punched it going up a hill.

If you are getting grey smoke then check your coolant system. If it is getting low or over pressurizing then you could have an injector seal problem or a head gasket/head problem.

I believe that my use of the Edge actually brought to light both my injector problem and my cracked head sooner (and within warranty) than if I were running stock software.
