: Steering Stabilizer Trick ?

I'm attempting to change out my steering stabilizer... now I've done a decent amount of automotive work, nothing exciting and this should be a piece of cake.... but for the life of me, I can't figure out what is holding this "bolt" to the frame. It is the piston end of the shock.

I have removed the cotter pin and nut and it looks to be pressed into place. Is there a trick or special tool I need? I don't have the room to bang it out with a hammer - though I tried... also tried tightening down a c-clamp but bent the handle on it... Got a 17mm wrench around the middle of the bolt, but it just doesn't turn because it appears to be pressed to the shock at the bottom.

I'd have thought this thing just pops straight out?!? I'd drill it from the top, but there's no room to do that.

Open to any and all suggestions.

I think?? I use to use an air hammer with a tie rod fork to knock it out of place.. Don't remember exactly.

So what do you do?

Just use the tie rod fork to pry it down? There ain't much to pry against. You'll have to excuse my ignorance... I've done engine, brake, etc... but I never touch suspension and steering.
