I ordered a set of those 18:1 marine ceramic coated pistons. My engine was overhauled not to long ago. I'm swapping pistons from the glo plug cracking one good. I've got the 6.5 turbo setup. I know I'm gonna have to do something about the wastegate, as I don't have a real vacume source to run it. I think someone posted a spring setup before that manually controls the boost.
Anyhow, I'm wondering how much PSI to run boost wise?

Im real interested to see how this turns out. who did you order them from?
I think D. Camilleri said to run no more them 10psi of boost.

If you lower the compression to 18+- you can run some more boost. I would limit the boost to 15 however unless you have an intercooler. Be very aware of egt's, don't exceed 1100f for any length of time. Unfortunately, the 6.2's weak link is the piston, they weren't designed for a turbo so they don't have the thick crown like a 6.5. Hope it works out well for you.;)

Has anyone ever measured the pistons between a 6.2 and a 6.5 to see if the crown is actually any thicker? I'm very skeptical about 6.5 pistons being any thicker, I'm just aware that they are coated or annodized for better heat rejection.

Thanks, thats what I was thinking. a pyrometer is on the list!
I'd like to intercool, but the cost is pretty high in fabing up all I need for it. There's no "kit" for a 6.5 is there? I plan to run it in a 93 chevy so the bodywork would be of the same era as the 6.5
