we've heard that there isnt room for an allison trans in the van, but if you ever look underneath, there is a lot of room around the 4l85e transmission.

assuming the allison can bolt in place and has the room, what else would need to be changed? rear driveshaft, cooling lines, linkage, cross brace, additional wiring and controller?....anything else? is it do-able?

i'd like to have the full power out of the duramax like the trucks, and have the durability of the allison for towing. and used allisons can be picked up for a reasonable price. plus it would just be cool

A lot room between the top of trans and floor ? For the price of a 2wd Allison I would just take that money and do a build on the 4L85E.

Make sure you use a 6spd. The vans need better final drive ratio

Its a full size van. All kinds of room, just break out the saws-all

How about a zf-6 swap?
