Hey Guys. The good news and the bad news about such an active website is that there is a TON of information to "sift" through to find answers to questions that may (or may not) have been asked/answered already. There is a high probability that this question & answer may already exist on this site - but after hours of searching, I don't think my computer will survive the toss out the second story window (which is coming). The fact that I have "qwerty" imprinted on my forehead will testify to my level of frustration...... Censored :help2:

I bought my '05 on June 17th. I finally reached the 10,500 mile mark and the computer is telling me the oil needs changed. I have the "maintenance schedule" posted by dmaxalliTech (THANKS!), so I am good to go with filters, lubes, etc. :D

I have probably read 200 pages on "EGR" and am not planning to remove (CAT) or modify (plates & sticks) anything. Is there a way to actually "clean" the EGR valve & associated areas? More importantly, is this something that can be done.....ummm.....easily? I realize "Ease is in the eye of the beholder," but....

Any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

Thanks in advance!

TS

PS - Any recommendations on a service facility in the northern Pittsburgh area?

You shouldn't need to clean the EGR. It should be adequate for its job. The purpose of blocking the EGR is to keep the soot out of the motor, not to keep the EGR clean. So if you aren't planning on blocking it with a plate, don't worry about it at all.
