Is there much difference in the tunes for a ZF-6 truck, as opposed to the Allison trucks?

Who's got good EFI Tunes for the 6 speed trucks?

Who did your Efi Tunes?

^^^ Brayden did mine, as far as I know there really isn't much of a difference, we just don't have a TCM. And I like Brayden's tunes very much. My tow tune runs very cool at 70-75 MPH I'm only running about 550-600 EGT.

Forgive my ignorance, but who's Brayden?

Just make sure to tell them that its a zf-6. Any of the guys who know how to tune a duramax with a allison should have no problem tuning yours.

duramaxtuner.com seems to get a lot of positive feed back on here as well and has done a few ZF6 trucks for members on here. The limiting factor on a ZF-6 truck will be the factory clutch if you are not running a upgrade already.

How do you lock a ecm? I heard of locked programmers but not a ecm.

tuner's apparently can lock it so that only they can have access to read and adjust the tunes... ?

the guy that locked mine (I talked to him) said to take it to the dealer... I take it he don't want to be bothered to return it to stock or unlock it so I can send it to duramaxtuner.com. kinda aggravatin.

Was it tuned with EFI live before?

Was it tuned with EFI live before?

yea by the guy I mentioned above (named Wade).

he said bought the software and vin licence for my truck from Nick at d-maxtuner.com, that Nick should be able to help me out. I hate to bother Nick and whatnot, and they're pretty clear on their website about locked ecm's and no core charge refun...

Wade said talk to Nick and mention his name and tell my story  and he(wade) said if he can help me he will, but he seemed either unsure or unwilling.

"Wade's tune" (single tune) put down 411 hp on the Dyno down at the TS Outlaw event in Bowling Green.

Did you talk to duramaxtuner about it? I'd think he'd be able to reflash the ecm....

If it is locked one just can't read it but one can easily flash over the locked ECM with a new tune. Some tuners that locked to the ECM also lock the ECM to keep others from reading their work. Lock tuners means it will not work on other trucks until it has return the base tune it read back to the vehicle.

Chev, best to start your own thread with this question... but I'm running a Kenny Smith dual disk, I imagine it oughta hold that power pretty well. effortlessly handles my measly ~400 hp. (dynoed down at TS back in the spring.) cost me over $1,200, not including installation.
