Any body know if there is a fuel filter that will interchange with the spin on for the 05 ? Went to pick one up for my new duramax today, like to fell over cheapest one was 43.00.

When the Duramax first came out I paid over $100 each for fuel filters. I hope they don't change them on the 06. One of the vendors here should beat that price if you can wait for shipping. If not there are several sites on the net, even some being sold on e-bay.

Yah, NAPA and others will pinch you for $45 every time. Best way to go is through the site vendors or other online retailers -- buy ahead, buy in bulk, you know you're going to need them. It'll save you a bunch of $$. Lots of threads on this around on the board -- look in the LB7 and LLY and Maintenance/DIY forums.

or you can add a lift pump then plumb in a secondary pre-oem Cat type 6 micron filter that can be bought for well under $10 a pop, change the cat one at every oil change? and the oem one once a year maybe.

I work at a parts store and we sell the WIX 33910 for $38 each IIRC. $43 is a little steep. Just be glad you don't have a 6.0 Powerjoke - Fuel Filter $80, Air filter $80.
