well after Big Windy mentioned the doors are already pre-wired for turn signal mirrors, i decided to add some to my existing mirrors. this also gave me a chance to put some sound deadening material to the inside of the door. instead of dynamat, i used self-stick roof repair....looks like dynamat. i've used it before and it works pretty good and is a hell of a lot cheaper than dynamat.

anyways, i bought some led trailer lights at autozone. took off the door panel, wired in the led light to the two unused wires in the connector.
using google i found a link on how to remove the door panel.

depending on the light you choose, you could also mount it on the outer portion of the mirror, if you can figure out how to remove the glass.

well, its brightest when looking at it from the side. it lights up as much as your typical side blinker that you see on some of the import cars.

the stock turn signals on the van arent really that visible to people directly to the side of my van.

i'd imagine it will make turning/switching lanes a bit easier when in city traffic.

People do not get out of the way for emergency vehicles with flashing lights and sirens. I personally do not like turn signals in the mirror of any vehicle.

most other countries outside of the usa require side blinkers and amber front AND rear turn signals. i think it makes for safer driving.
the flashing brakelight that many american cars have for a turn signal is stupid in my opinion.

Not in mine. It took me some time to get used to seeing flashing amber lights around dusk and not jump through the roof thinking that it was some dumbass in my lane with his headlights off. Amber= front red= rear. Something ive had to unlearn.

Nice install,a lot brighter and cheaper than the GM mirror.I like having the signal on the side/middle of the vehicle when towing or in heavy traffic so people know what you are doing, except for the asses who use it to close up your lane change when you are signaling.
