Sounds like a good trip. Glad you're back online, but as all of us know who return from vacation, it usually isn't all that great to come back to work. But somehow our lifestyles, bills and families all necessitate it.

You're truck looks good on the beach. Bet the Silver Lake sand dunes aren't that pretty right now. Some warm weather and sunshine would sure hit the spot.

Aketay, didnt take 71, took 44(?) from OK city, through Tulsa and across to St L.

MrMister, those are 285-75-16 on stock rims. BFG T/A's

Larson, We gotta hook up this summer and hit the dunes, you take anything else up or just your truck? I have a 03 Raptor that likes to play in the sand up there

Elvis, actually stayed in Taylor. My aunt's new husband is some type of manager of Continental battery right there in Goergetown.

All I take to the Silver Lake dunes is the truck. I've got a Honda TRX 250 and Honda TRX 300 quads, but I leave themt home as they are just stock in terms of tires and power. The 300 is pretty beat up as it gets used as a work horse around the house to move wood and stuff.

My girls are 10 and 13 and it keeps getting tougher to make everyone happy in the summer. I used to run the sand a lot from 1976 - 1979 with a half ton Chevy 4x4, but then sold it and didn't have anything but beatup work trucks for several years. Along about 1999 I bought a half ton extended cab Chevy and decided that running the sand was something I wanted to do again, so we took a weekend that summer and went up there. My kids had a blast riding around, watching others, running on the sand in the pedestrian area and swimming in Lake Michigan. So we make just one trip a summer up there for the weekend and it's always been the last weekend in August before Labor Day weekend. I'm sure that's the weekend we will go again this year. We plan way ahead and have camped in the State Park the past two summers, since we have the travel trailer. Before that we stayed over in Hart.

As I said, summer gets busy quick. I'm also involved in Gold Wing motorcycles and the Gold Wing Touring Association. We try to do something with the bike each summer, including our state rally (Evart this year) and national rally (Wisconsin Dells area this year). And the kids want their opportunity to go to church camp over by Greenville. The oldest may want to go to band camp too, if not this summer, then the summer of 2005 for sure. I'm looking out the window watching the snow fly and wishing summer would get here quick, but I know as quickly as it gets here, it will pass by fast with as much going on as our house has.

Congrats on the upcoming family addition. They grow up fast and keep you busy all the time.

Eric
