I just put in a cognito front driveshaft 2 weeks ago. I pulled 3 full pulls with it. the fourth pull I didn't even make it off the line and the rear yoke broke. I've pulled a ton of times on the stocker with no issues but I decided to put the cognito shaft in because it is longer and has a dual cardan joint to reduce vibration. was it a bad casting or just a pos shaft? so what are you guys running for front a driveshaft?

I would just have a stock one retubed a little longer for the lift. Double cardon joints are great for eliminating vibration from excessive angles, but suck for hardcore strength. I know you don't want to hear this, but the best cure is to lose the lift if you going to pull on a regular basis. There's a reason all the top trucks are stock height or close to it. My old puller had an 8" Fabtech on it for the first 2 years of ownership, when I decided to start pulling I took the lift off before the first hook.

Stock shaft with heavier u joints. The stock u jouint will fail. When mine failed, a piece went through engine oil filter. When I got it shut down, I had 2 quarts of oil left.

Ide also like to point out that the vast majority of ford and dodge guys are running a stock double cardan front driveshaft with little trouble, granted its a larger series.

yeah all dodge trucks come with a dual cardan front driveshaft and most that I know of are still on the stock shaft. you just have to spray some weasel piss in-between the joints every oil change to keep them from binding.
