Well, I plowed a jeep that turned I front of me today and most likely totaled my 2008 2500 CC LB LTZ...
So what should I get to replace it?
I liked the LMM, and don't know a whole lot about the LML. Funny thing is I just ordered my DPF delete...parts should be here tomorrow...
So, should I try to find an LMM, or just jump into an LML?

The new trucks are a very big step forward, if you tow they are amazing.

If you can afford a LML, that's the one I'd get. LMM's are great, but there are advantages that the LML has over the LMM, especially for towing. Handle more weight, both in the pulling and especially in the stopping, doesn't have the DPF (although there are problems with the urea feeds right now), and in general, are a more solid truck.

But to get a new LML, you almost have to be a bank robber. Or sell your house and live in the truck. They're pretty pricey. If you could find a used one with some high miles (high for 1 year old, that is, say 50K), it might be pretty reasonable. That's the way I bought my 2008 in August of 2009, it had 51K miles and I bought it for $22.5K.

If you ordered a tuner and exhaust for the LMM you might want to think about an LMM again. When the new 11' Denali's came out I HAD TO HAVE ONE but after a test drive all I wanted to do was get back in my modded LMM. If you want to keep your new truck stock then get the LML but if you want a modded truck then find a nice LMM. There is a ton more aftermarket mods available for the LMM.

I would get a brand new one so you have the exhaust brake, bigger brakes, stronger suspension and frame...
Or make due for a year or two with an older lly,lbz... and then buy the new body style truck in late 2013.

I would buy a new one today if I didn't know they are going to update everything in 2013.

Thanks guys...I am still on the fence. Hell I even went and looked at at new MegaCab (dont kick me off the board or anything) for their new interior. I drive a lot and always have clients in the truck, so a nice interior is important to me. Anyone heard when GM is going to re-do the LTZ/SLT interior? is that not until 2013?

Oh, and BTW, I am getting totally boned by my insurance company - I had over $20k in extras on this truck, and guess what they offer me - NADA. My point is, if anyone has a lot of extra money into thier truck, get a stated value policy NOW!

If you tow - go with the 3500HD CCLB SRW. I traded a 2005 for one and what an improvement!

I guess I'm the only one on here that would buy a used, high mile LLY or LBZ and put $20K in aftermarket toys on it and would out-tow and out-run every brand new truck on the road for way less than what I would have to pay for a new one.

2011 LML Duramax trucks have both the DPF and the DEF emission components.

insurance is buying mine :D but I do know of a 2011 Denali in TX with 11'000 miles that could be bought for $50k if someone was interested.
