How much life do I have left in this filter? Or is it used up? I have the 2 micron cat by the fuel tank that I change every 10,000 miles. This 1 micron has 35,000 miles on it.

Well, I wouldn't put it back in :( Seriously, from what I can see in the pic it looks pretty used up.

I've never cut open a microglass filter before so I didn't know what it looked like new. I thought I'd be able to get more miles out of it though.

i usually run them 50-60k. towing & mileage affect filter life as its more the amount of fuel running through the filter than the actual miles you put on the vehicle.

and its kind of hard to tell from your pictures, but it doesn't look full. dirty yes, but not a the end of its service life. mine usually looker darker but it could be the flash.

The filter didn't look that dirty to me. Is that the OEM filter? If not what fuel flow is it rated for? The Racor that I bought years ago was rated at over twice the fuel flow of the truck so even at 50% it was still able to flow full fuel. It didn't get very drity so sledom changed it. The other trucks filter when I pulled it apart it had some asphaultains on it some sand ( few grains) and that was it so why change them? Just buy clean fuel.

The filter in the picture is nick's 1 micron fuel filter for the stock filter head adapter. Not a stock 15 micron.
