***Disclaimer*** I have NOT done this!

I talked to a guy on Monday that parallel parked his truck (ECLB) in front of my building easier than I ever have, when he jumped out I asked him with a smart @$$ attitude how many years it took him to perfect his parking technique. His response, "they didn't build it right to begin with"...

When I asked for an explaination he told me that his wife complained that the truck was too hard to park and he works at a machine shop so he popped the knuckes off of the truck and machined .125" off of the stops of both the knuckles and the control arms for a total of 1/4" he said "now she parks like a Cadillac"....

I would think that would be too tight for the CV joints

what do you guys think?

Compared to 1500's the limits are definitley much less. I have wondered the same thing after comparing my 01 1500 to my 05 2500.

Hmm, doesn't make much sense to me because I know that on my truck the pitman and idler were contacting the frame at full lock. I think they would be the limiting factor!?

Kind of screwy. When I put on the fabtech idler/pitman combo, I put on their steering stabilizer also. I found that it reduces turning radius because it stops the idler/pitman just before it contacts the frame. They said it's the contact on the frame that wears out the arms because of the pressure it forces downward on them.

But I agree, they shouldn't do that!

Ill try to put mine in the air this weekend and see whats what...maybe there's some truth to this, maybe not? maybe a tech with some knowledge will fill us in?
