I've tried the wallyworld china junk and blown fuses and cooled the damn things forever waiting to air-up 80 pounds in my 5th wheel tires. Is there an AMERICAN made 12 volt portable aircompressor I can rely on that will make me happy around a $100.00. Has anyone found one? I don't mind paying a reasonable price for quality.:confused::confused:

Years ago, I bought a 12v pump called Truck Air. It worked great and would even pump up the tires on my trailer at 100 psi. It is VERY slow. It is more than 10 years old and does not get very hot. I don't know if they still make them. Try a google and see if it's still made.

Both are good suggestions above.
ARB also has some very well performing compressors both fixed and portable for 12v vehicle use. However, I am pretty sure ARB is Austrailian if the Made in the USA is a dealbreaker.

I just bought the Viair 400P-RV, and it looks like a very nice compressor. Its going to fill my needs perfectly.
