I have hooked a few times with my duramaxs and was wondering if any one has more experience running 1st gear high range with loose convertor compared to 3rd low range with locked convertor? I haved seemed to pull better in 1st high witch is 3.10 ratio about 26mph not figuring convertor slip compared to lower 3.83 ratio about 21mph in 3rd low. Anyone have more input? I want to hook my new lml and have no way to raise rpms so was thinking 1st high would be better?

4 lo, let it run up to third gear. 4 hi is never a good idea, pretty hard on driveline parts.

Woody I would think it would be easier on driveline because of loose convertor? Hard on convertor but everything else has some give?

If the sled is light 4 hi works awesome, not at all on a big sled though.
