More info,
Is the starter motor cranking the engine at all?or is the starter motor not engaging with the flexplate/flywheel at all?
If the starter motor itself is just spinning the starter solenoid or starter drive is faulty and/or the teeth on the flexplate/flywheel (if is a stick truck) are missing/or broken off which is unlikely.

It is just spinning not engaging we used a brand new starter and it did the same thing. Before this happened it also ran sluggish then would die and then the starter would spin and he would have to bump the key several times to start it but now there is just spinning.

The teeth on the flywheel are good. Is there a clutch position sensor that could've gone bad? Or would it just not do anything when you turn the key?

As soon as you turn the key it sounds like it wants to come out but then it stops and spins until you stop. We tried it with a new starter and had jumper cables hooked up so it should've gotten all the juice it needed.

The clutch switch is not your problem,it sounds like the reman. starter you installed has a internal starter drive issue or faulty solenoid.
What brand of reman. starter did you install?

The one we bought was duralast. The one we still have is a different brand. He also said it wont throw codes til your driving so there aren't any staying on. Possible no start mode due to other codes?
