I am thinking about getting a bench top model to clean pre-heat blocks. I do not have a clue which brands are good or bad. Does anybody have any experience with them ?

I was worried no one would have any input. I am looking at the Crest CP1200HT. I am thinking I could also clean my injector nozzles with it. For $ 1,000 I hope the gamble will be worth it.

Ultrasonic cleaner does not do much for injectors. Most fuel injection shops just use carbuerator cleaner. Need something to disolve varnish and carbon.

Have ran gas injectors in a sonic cleaner but it to left a lot to be desired.

What kind of soap did you use ? Was it a heated unit ? I went ahead and bought a heated unit and seen where some places have soaps just for carbs that never needs replaced just filtered and reused.

For the injectors we used some type of solvent which was quite strong. No name.

It was not heated.

Gas injectors where cleaned better by running on the stand at wide open for 30 to 60 minutes. The fluid used for running the injectors had a cleaning solvent built into the fluid.

Best carburetor cleaner was MOMAR.

Side note: The injectors were pulsed when placed in the ultrasonic cleaner by the injector machine. That was to flush the injector and clean the valve tip as well.

This thing works great with the right soap and temps. I first tried Omegasonics soap called Omegaclean. Very good soap but I wanted to see if there was a better soap. Sharpertek Shellac Buster works excellent. It is N-Terpinal RS88 a biodegradable solvent made from soy byproducts. It was not cheap at $ 175 for 5 gallons but it works. It never breaks down, you just filter and reuse. It cleans carbon up preheat blocks, brass parts, quickly and makes them shine better than new. It is kinda stinky especially when heated. You really need to keep an eye on your temps since the ultrasonic action creates heat.
Next test for it will be injectors when I get burner rebuilds done.
