I have a 2005 GMC 2500HD Duramax.:D My father-inlaw has a 2005 Chev 3500Hd Duramax:o: and on his DIC he has a reading for fuel filter life.Thought that GMC was a better truck.:mad: Mine does not have that readout can that option Can that option be added? :confused: Would it be a reprogam of the computer? Any help on this would be nice and a nice option to have.

If you get the upgraded flash you will get the Fuel filter minder as well.

I went to the dealer today and they said that there is no upgrade reflash for my truck that they have not ben notified about any thing like that. Do you have any specs that I can tell then how it can be done?

Say someone you know has a Tech 2 and the latest discs, can the 2005 program be installed into a 2004 cluster, BCM, ECM, or whatever? Didn't all the computers stay the same from 2004.5 to 2005?

I did not like the way the service writer and the tech acted like they didn't know what I was talking about. And that the public usually find's out things before they do they are leaving a sour taste in my mouth.I told them that they needed to get the laites
up date from the mfg and it would have the fuel filter minder in it. They still didn't know what I was talking about.

Maybe you should try another dealer. I got my d-max last Oct. and the fuel fillter readout was not there in the dic. My service tech was looking up some info on there shop computer and he found the update there. He didn"t even know about it. He loaded it in there hand held computer that loads info in your truck computer. This was about 2 months ago. Ether your dealer has not looked up the lasted info or he's just a prick.

Thats too funny. I ran into the same problem. My brother and I both went out and bought two brand new '05 2500HD's - Exact same trucks with the exception his has the LT trim and mines the LS. We were taking a trip this past weekend in his truck, and I noticed he had the fuel filter readout on his DIC. When we got back, I checked it out on my truck, and I didnt have it! Everything else was the same though... I was pretty dissapointed. I am going to try calling my dealer tomorrow and see if they will reflash mine... I just dont understand why the DICs would be different!!!!
