: TST Powermax riddle me this...

I've run the unit on my truck and know it does OK, but what has me scratching my head is a claim from a customer stating that his TST read 37 psi boost. Not sure how the OE boost sensor is giving this signal since it does not read that high. Has anyone seen 30+ psi on the TST readout?

nope, just 26 or 27 while pulling a hill towing a boat. Other than that, I only usually see 24 unloaded.

I have seen 32 on mine... Thats with the waste gate hose they provided. with the stock one never over 27

I seen 30+ very easy with their boost line, and the PowerMax. I think about 34-35 was the max. (The boost and EGT readings were taken with both the PowerMax gages, and the X-Monitor)

OK, now how are they getting 30+ psi from a sensor that cannot read that high???

Sounds like they are talking about readings taken from a unit hooked up to other than the OE sensor or they are talking about boost readings taken from a mechanical boost guage while running the TST box.

Does TST provide an alternate sensor to the OE hookup?

Not that I can tell. Just a plug in box with EGT probe and a line for the wastegate. Maybe the person that had it before me messed with the setting on the wastegate line.

I have seen over 30 psi and this is the reading directly off of the tst powermax remote module, because I don't have anyother gauges. Usually it isn't a lot higher, but it will flash 31 and 32 psi of boost on that little digital gauge.

LTChip, I think it gets the boost reading from where it plugs into the pcm wire harness. It has to because it doesn't have another place to plug in a boost gauge, just a egt probe. So it has to be reading it from the oe sensor. How high does the stock sensor read, because now I am kinda of questioning it's accuracy.

I thought, as with the Edge Attitude, that the OE readings pulled off the truck's sensor by intercepting the numbers from the data harness which was assumed to only go up to 27 I think.

I believe it does pull the reading from the OE wire harness just like the edge, but I think the Edge Attitude module itself limits the boost reading to 25psi, not the actual stock sensor.

I could be wrong though. Best bet would be to call TST and talk to one of their engineers.

the banks mechanical gauge that plugs right into the banks six gun tuner and gets its signal via interception reads higher then 25 too If i remember i was reading 31 to 33 off that gauge back then

If that is true, then they should correct that with a SW update. Certainly sounds as though this may be the case. If so, then it should explain Kennedy's riddle.

Kennedy - since you are a dealer maybe you could talk to Edge and find out the truth and if there is a fix for this limitation of the Attitude.
