Had some heavy rain on friday, I went through a puddle and my driver side fog light bulb exploded. I have moisture and broken glass in the fog light housing now.

These are supposed to be water proof right? Do you think the dealer will replace the housing?

:(

If the housing is cracked they probably will, Rick...That oring on the bulb doesn't seal the best in deep water, does it? I nuked both bulbs offroading with the old truck....housing full of water and I didn't know it...hit the switch..*poof* no more fog lights ):h

That sucks, I have to bring it in for the fuel filter I should know in a day or so. Looking at it, the housing does not seem to be craked.

same thing hapened to mine, passenger side, always had moisture in it, couldn't figure it out and one day it popped and left black residue all over the interior of the housing. stealer only replaced the bulb, wouldn't replace the housing because they couldn't find a crack in it.

Great find! I will have to see what the dealer says....but it looks like I will have to order them. The other sides lense has a crack.

I think you should just give it a good whack with a BFH before you go to the dealer.....that should qualify it for warranty! :)

This is were I am confused, if it was broken or cracked then I would see the dealer saying sorry can not help. But one that is sealed and then get water......that is a defect. I will just have to see, but I think they are going to tell me it is ok....this happens all the time, just get a new bulb......until the next puddle I have to go through. ;)

I'm probably driving the price up by telling you this, but I snagged a set off of ebay for $60 for the pair NIB.

The dealership ordered me a new fog light. Good guys, no questions ask. They agreed that water should not have gotten inside of it to make the bulb explode.
