I just got my Rancho 9000x shocks. The back shocks (rs9599274) fit fine but on the fronts (rs99288) I noticed that the Rancho's were 2" longer when fully compressed. I went to put the shocks on and they fit into the mounting brackets but were 1/2" from being fully compressed. According to the Rancho website, these shocks should be the right ones.

Jerz ~ was gonna reply yesterday but upon chkg mine ~ found that I had rec'vd 295's instead of the 288's myself. According to the catalogue, they are for a 2500 lite. So, that wrecked my weekend ~ just got off the fone w/Rick at samsoffroad 800-446-5503. He explained that they were the right shock (is this the emperors invisible clothes?) after all. Well, they do work and until the question came up ~ I was very happy w/'em. After discussing it w/Rick ~ me be happy and ~ I mentioned your issue to him and was informed he just got off the fone w/you. So, I'm reasonably sure you are happy now.

The purpose for this post is to inform others that may have a concern and if there is a question/issue, that Rick said he'd be happy to help.

On Edit: I'm guessing Rancho came out w/the 288's for those of us w/o lift but have cranked torsion bars to eliminate the silverado slope. I think I've sufficient range w/the 295's.Edited by: ShumDit
