Im looking into having my dealer do a tranny flush for me in next couple weeks... Prolly have about 45k on it by then and id like to switch it over to synthetic. Been looking at Schaffers or Transyiid. When checking out Eric's site, i noticed there is quite a difference in the price of the two. What gives? Id been leaning towards Transyid, because there's a Allison dealer not to far away, but itll prolly be more than Eric's.
2.) Will 5gallons be enough for a flush?
3.) I plan on switching the external filter again at that time, but would it also be wise to do get the internal one to. I know the book says only at an overhaul, but it cant hurt cant it ?
4.) Will there be any difference in operating temps? Right now it sits around 150-175 depending on how much stop/go. Thats empty..
I think that's it...Thanks.-Adam

What happened to #1? j/k
2) I used about 22 qts when I did my flush, but I usually let it pump a few seconds after the new stuff starts shooting out just to be sure, so yes 5 gal will do it if you're able to not waste any.
3) It can't hurt, but everyone I talk to says it really isn't necessary. I didn't change mine.
4) Didn't notice any diff in operating temps, but I didn't use Transynd. If there is any, I wouldn't expect anything too dramatic.
