What brands are there for transmission spin on filter? I have just found Fram and Gold Napa which is 3 to 3.5 times of Fram price. Any inputs? Thanks

While I don't know about the Allison application, I have seen some write ups about Fram filters. They are the most cheaply made filters according to many people. Now as far as fuel filters go, Fram does not manufacture that particular filter, they only resell it under their name. My advise is to always avoid Fram when possible, and filters on these expensive rigs isn't the place to save a few dollars..BTW, when you change your filter, like I plan to do in the next few days, make sure that you transfer the ring magnet that is on the tranny filter to your new filter (which I hope is NOT a Fram-:t)....I'm using an AC Delco myself....

You might go to one of the vendors, like Kennedy Diesel, and order some maintenance items in advance and in quantity....That's the route I took. I bought a few fuel filters, a few tranny filters and one of those Fumoto oil drain valves to make my 2nd oil change easy...Since these diesels require a little bit more maintenance than gas engines, I went that route. I just keep supplies on hand. The online prices aren't bad either, if you have time to wait on shipping.....

Thanks. Do you have AC Delco or Wix transmission spin on filter #? I can wait for shipping but I prefer to pick it up local if I could.

If you have an Allison shop in the area, you can get the Allison branded filters for WAY cheaper than at a GM dealer. I pay $7.71 plus tax in this area.

NAPA filters are WIX. They're $14. I don't remember the number, but if you tell them your info, they can look it up.

I have been buying mine directly from Allison for under $8. Way to easy there. Find a dealer, Allison that is, and get their's.

Ditto. Find an Allison service center and get them there. Far cheaper and top shelf stuff.
