Alright ill make this my last topic in here for a while...#1 these flaps are on the front of the box, but they werent on my buddys dmax before it got stolen, and others have told me they arent standard to.. Just kinda curious what there purpose is...
#2 Iwas wondering if anyone else has these on their pickups. I never thought to ask the dealer, but the guy who had owned it beofre me said these were to hlep reduce mud/dirt from getting into the brakes, and helping them last longer..?? only thing it seems to do to me is blow into my rear tires...

I have the rubber guards between the bed and the cab. I thought they were standard. I do not have the front mud flap though.

I have both on my 02 but the flap is closer to the bottom of the shock mount and no where near making contact with my tires, but I'm running stock tires. The keep mud off brakes idea sounds correct. The box flap I was told is to keep road spray from the rear cab vents...dunno, again sounds good.
