Hey guys, I plan on making a front weight bracket this week and was wondering if any of you could show some pics or reveal some measurements, I have an idea on how i want to fab it up but just curious to what others are using....thanks

As far as I know most guys including myself take out our tow hooks and a 3x3 piece of square tubing, it fits perfectly inside of the frame, form there it's all up to u theres no trick to making them u need to figure out what is the best way for u to secure your weights wether it's a box or just a bracket like mine to hang the weights on, the only piece of advice I can tell u is I drilled out the holes in my frame to 5/8 inch so I can just use a normal hitch pin to secure my bracket rather then bolts like most guys do

Yup, slide it in where the tow hooks go and make sure you can get enough weights on it to make weight. Also make sure that you know what weights you will be using and make sure it is high enough so that the weights don't scrape on the ground. Good luck and have fun!

two pieces of 1.5"x3" by 1/4" or thicker rectangular tubing, this way it'll allow it to slide under the front round cross tube, then it allows it to slide in and out easily while still being very reliable. And you do not need to bolt it in, i use 1/4" pins thru the holes, which the bolts would normally thread into the tow hooks, they just prevent it from sliding out, I have had 1700# on it and have not bent the steel.

I c how u did yours and that's a good idea I just used 3/8 3x3 steel and cut a reliefin the back so it would slid under the part of the frame your talking about

I made mine pop into my fisher plow mounts, I made it as light as practical. Its also a useless idea for anyone who doesn't have a snow plow.

ALOT of guys bolt on the heaviest chunk of iron they can find to hang weight from. In the grand scheme of things, i felt building a weight bar that was easy to manage rather than some monstrosity that takes 2 guys to put on, was a good way to go. Just something for guys to think about when building a weight bar

Agree, if it takes two grown men and a 12 year old to put the thing on why make it slide in and out. Might as well weld it to the frame!

If it is a pain to take things on a off then you won't feel like doing it and then pulling is not as fun.
