So im washing the dmax this morning, and i got the bug/tar sponge out scrubing on the front lights,bumper etc...
I was on the passenger side and looked like dirt on the bottom, scrub but nothing was happening. Start lookin closer and the paint off the amber light bulb is peeling and falling off inside the light...Same thing on driver side. Clear bulbs are fine however...Here's a couple pics....:confused:

I have seen that before on cheap light bulbs that are painted or dipped in dye to color them. You need to buy light bulbs that the glass on them is actually colored glass all the way through. Sylvania lamps are good bulbs.

First thing I changed on my 2002 was the amber bulbs to amber GLASS bulbs..............

GM saving money...............

cheap bulb. those are dipped bulbs. you need to get the colored glass.

Ahhh, well maybe ill stop by carquest in the next couple days and pick a couple up. Nice to know its nothing on my end causing it...Thanks guys-Adam

While your at it, if your truck doesnt have it, switch the DRLs to amber too :)

Then do the headlight mod (search here) and rig your DRLs to come on at night, they work pretty good as amber fog lights.
