Hi everyone, purchased a new 05 Duramax CCab 2500 the end of July. I really appreciate all the info I have learned from everyone on the site. I was wondering what most of you do when you fill up the tank. Do you reset the DIC for the mpg average or do you just let it run continuously. I am seeing some pretty high mpg figures and was wondering if that is an average since new or if the DIC was reset after a fillup. I have only filled up 3 times and am averaging 17.9 mpg computed manually. My DIC reads 17.8 since new. I would appreciate your your suggestions. I suppose if you wanted to try to find an optimum speed for the best mpg you should probably reset the thing. Thanks Alot. Gene

mine seems to know when I fill up, but I reset the mpg's and trip meter.

Welcome to DieselPlace.....

You need to update your signature and put your location in your setup...

I reset and manually calculate the mpg.

I use the business selection for when I'm towing, and reset the personal setting for every fill up. Haven't reset the business since I want to know how many miles I put on this truck for getting down to business, and resetting the personal lets me know how many miles I get in each tank.
I leave the Average MPG alone since that gives a good trend (although inaccurate)
So far of the 6768 Miles on the truck 4570 are towing (66.8%). DIC is showing 13.1 average and 11.8 business MPG overall. About 1/2 MPG more than hand calculated
